2016 Nissan Titan XD

Nissan has debuted the all-new Titan full-size pickup at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.  Representing the next-generation Titan lineup, the 2016 Nissan Titan XD flagship model took the stage and previewed other grade levels in the lineup which will be introduced at a later date this year.

Jumping right to the heart of the Titan, the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan will be powered by three engine choices including all-new V8, V6 and the new Cummins V8 Turbo engine which is powering the 2016 Titan XD.
The V6 is the first that Nissan offers in this class. The specs of the V6 and V8 will be available at a later date.
As for the Cummins V8 Turbo engine, it is a 5.0L engine producing 310 horsepower and powerful 555 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the 2016 Titan XD a towing capability of over 12,000 lb. and payload of over 2,000 lb.  The Cummins 5.0-L V8 Turbo Diesel engine produces about 45 percent more torque at crusing speed than similar-sized gasoline V8 engine and according to Nissan, the engine is expected to yield 20 percent better fuel economy than a gasoline powered V8 while towing full load.  With its torque and power, the engine is mated to a heavy-duty 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission which is developed and tuned exclusively for the Titan XD.
To handle this powerful engine, the Nissan Titan XD utilizes a unique frame and chassis that got its design from Nissan commercial vehicles.  The Titan XD’s wheelbase is 151.6 inches, about 20 inches long than that of non-XD Titan models.
In contrast to the original Titan which was started out focusing on consumer innovations such as rear doors design, beside storage, etc., the all-new Titan was started out focusing on “commercial strength components” such as the radiator, rear axle and everything in between.
Equipped with new heavy-duty suspension system that consists of tuned and reinforced parts, the new Titan XD rides on three available wheel sizes – 17-inch, 18-inch or 20-inch, all come with all-weather/all-surface-traction tires.
