At the SEMA show this year, Toyota stunned the show-goers with the Camry Dragster, dubbed “sleeper” because it suggests that to shock the competitors in drag racing terms.
Delivering a large 850 H.P., the “Sleeper” Camry, originated from the stock Camry, went through extreme modification to become a “full-blown” drag race car.
It took the team at Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center simply eleven weeks to make the Camry Dragster, The outer shell was off from the stock 2015 Camry and matched with full tube-frame chassis. beneath the Camry cover is the Tundra’s 5.7-L V8 engine, transmission, rear shaft and physical science. The engine gets boosted with a TRD compressor and a wet nitrous system. With DOT 335/30/18 drag racing tires, the Camry “Sleeper” is in a position to run a quarter-mile in 9.8 seconds.
The Camry drag race car is presently on show at the SEMA show, and subsequently it'll maintain tour across the country at select National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) races. READ MORE
